Overview: Tacoma Arts Commission Volunteer Opportunities

The Tacoma Arts Commission (TAC) is seeking dedicated individuals to support the arts in Tacoma. They are looking for volunteers to fill five At-Large positions, with a strong commitment to social justice and inclusivity. BIPOC individuals, LGBTQ individuals, individuals with disabilities, seniors, immigrants, and refugees are particularly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Create policies for arts program development
  • Fund artists and arts organizations for community services
  • Organize Tacoma Arts Month and oversee public art
  • Adhere to legal codes and regulations

Commitment:

  • Monthly meetings (virtual or in-person)
  • Subcommittee and selection panel participation
  • Program evaluation and support
  • Involvement in Tacoma Arts Month (October)

Training Requirement: Appointed applicants must complete five Open Public Meetings Act and Public Records Act trainings within 90 days.
